Welch College is a four-year Christian college founded in 1942 by the National Association of Free Will Baptists. The college serves approximately 315 students and is the national college of the 300,000-strong Free Will Baptist denomination.

Campus Location

Location: Welch College is located in Nashville, TN, the cultural and educational hub of the South. Three of the nation’s interstate highways (I-40, I-24, I-65) converge in Nashville, a city with a population of 600,000. Metropolitan Nashville has 1.5 million citizens and is known as the Athens of the South because of its educational and cultural opportunities.

Campus: Welch College has an intimate nine-acre campus on Nashville’s bustling West End Avenue, just a quarter-mile from the I-440 entrance ramp, Nashville’s connector to the interstate highway system. There are 8 buildings on campus, including the three-story Johnson Academic Building, Welch Library, the Picirilli Activities Center (gym), men’s and women’s residence halls, and more.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition: Welch College is a superior higher education value, lower in cost than 82% of Tennessee private, accredited colleges. 2015-2016 tuition (12-18 hours) is $17,398 per year, and room and board is $7,048 per year.

Financial Aid: Welch College offers more than $4 million in student financial aid each year. Approximately 90% of our students receive financial aid, including institutional loans, grants, and scholarships as well as federally and state-funded grants and loans. Welch consistently ranks high in U.S. News and World Report as one of the top colleges in the U.S. in the awarding of merit-based scholarships.
