We are excited about the arrival of our freshman class on-campus this fall! That’s right. We’re making plans for YOU to be here in Gallatin this August. If you have not already made plans to join us, please APPLY TODAY. As our communities continue to deal with COVID-19, Welch College is a great place to be this fall. Here’s why:
We announced recently that, in response to the Coronavirus crisis, we are rolling back tuition to its 2019–20 level and initiating a program of scholarships for students in Sumner County and surrounding areas. These special scholarships will go to students in Sumner, Wilson, Trousdale, and Robertson Counties, Simpson County in Kentucky, and the northeast region of Davidson County, including Goodlettsville, Madison, Old Hickory, Hermitage, and Donelson.
At Welch, we care about your medical well-being. Not only is Welch less than 30 minutes from the world-class Vanderbilt Medical Complex, but our campus is only 3 minutes from the award-winning Sumner Regional Medical Center at Sumner Station. As if this was not enough, Mr. Russell Houske, our men’s resident director who lives on-campus, is a nationally and state licensed paramedic. Mr. Houske previously served as Paramedic Captain for Stewart County Emergency Medicine and is currently a full-time paramedic with the Sumner County EMS.
Welch’s newly built campus is situated on 100 acres. If the entire on-campus community of faculty, staff, and students distanced across the entire campus, each person would have about 14,000 square feet to themselves! We doubt it will ever come to that (unless we’re playing Capture the Flag), but you need to know that there is plenty of outdoor space here for you to remain safely at a distance.
Geographically, Welch is ideally situated for this time. Gallatin, Tennessee has a population of 40,000, so we are not in the middle of a downtown area where the spread of Coronavirus is most likely. But don’t worry, when this pandemic fear clears up, students at Welch are just 8 minutes from suburban shopping at the Streets of Indian Lakes, 2o minutes from world-famous Nashville cuisine, and 27 minutes from the heart of downtown Nashville. The best of both worlds! It doesn’t get any better.
Welch’s student to faculty ratio is 10:1. That means you’re not a mere number; you’re not lost in a sea of faces. At Welch, you’re an individual with a name and you’ll receive personal attention from a faculty that wants you to thrive socially, academically, and spiritually.
There are many reasons to attend Welch this fall. But as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic, we feel like these things are important. We believe that Welch College is a special place. Check us out online, and then come and let us show you the Welch Difference. We would love for Welch to be your home away from home, and we would love to be your college family!
