A Homeschool-Friendly College

in Gallatin, Tennessee

Your college choice is an important decision—one of your first big steps into adulthood! If you decide to make Welch your home away from home, you will find that our homeschool-friendly community is the perfect place to help you make a successful transition into adulthood. Here’s why:

That’s right! We provide a $2,000 per year (distributed over 4 years) institutional scholarship just because you’ve been homeschooled. We think Christian education should start in the home, and we’re ready to put our money where our mouth is when it comes to this firmly held conviction.

We accept CLT scores just as we do ACT and SAT scores. Several of our friends in the homeschool community have expressed the unique fit that the CLT provides, and we’re listening.

“Overwhelming” does not even begin to describe the feeling of walking into a lecture hall of 300 people on your first day of class. Not at Welch. Our student to faculty ratio is 9 to 1. That means you’re not a mere number; you’re not lost in a sea of faces. At Welch, you’re an individual with a name, and you’ll receive personal attention from a faculty that wants you to thrive socially, academically, and spiritually. Your first-year classes will rarely have more than 40 students (class sizes are capped at 49 students), and your upper-level classes will often have just a handful of other students. We also provide free tutoring for our students because we know that you may need a little boost as you transition into a different academic environment.

We’re not just Christian in name only—we are a Christian Christian college! Our faculty members are faithful followers of Christ who serve in their local churches. They will teach, affirm, and support your faith, not undermine it. Our extracurricular campus activities are wholesome and Christ-honoring. We have conduct expectations that provide guardrails for you (e.g. curfew for dorm students, church attendance requirement, dating expectations, campus dress/appearance guidelines). Also, our admissions requirements ensure that all students confess Christ as Savior. Truly, we are a Christian community of faith and learning.

Regardless of what career field you are entering into, Welch has you covered with our associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in over 40 programs of study. Welch College is consistently ranked as one of the best colleges in the South by US News & World Report. We’ve earned this distinction because of our dedication to academic quality with personal attention. More than 65% of our professors have doctorate degrees in their area of study; they are experts in their respective fields and you get to learn from them in an intimate classroom setting.

We believe that Welch College is a special place. Check us online, and then come and let us show you the Welch Difference. We would love for Welch to be your home away from home, and we would love to be your college family!
