Welch golf coach, Barry Simpson, has announced the signing of Cage Ellis to a Letter of Intent. The White House Heritage senior had an outstanding high school career, setting numerous records while leading his team to a school’s best 12-1 team mark.

Ellis was WHHHS’s first golfer to win a regional championship and advance to the state tournament. He was the team’s MVP and Medalist Award winner in 2015 and 2016, medalist in 11 of 14 singles matches, and was nominated for the 2015 WHHHS Espy Awards Male Athlete of the Year. He has been on the varsity golf team since his 8th grade year.

“Cage is competitor and a winner on and off the course,” said Welch golf coach Barry Simpson. “He is a tremendous addition to our team and I am excited to have him on campus next year.”

Ellis is the son of Thomas and Kelly Ellis. He and his family attend Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
