Licensure Information Disclosure

Welch College is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA). This membership allows Welch College to offer distance learning programs to students residing outside of Tennessee, however this agreement does not guarantee professional licensure in other states for students completing any of Welch College’s academic programs that lead to professional licensure.

Welch College’s academic programs that lead to professional licensure in the state of Tennessee include undergraduate and post-baccalaureate teacher licensure programs.  These programs have been developed to satisfy the licensure requirements in the state of Tennessee, and Welch College makes every effort to ensure that state licensure or certification information is current; however, state requirements may change.  Students who reside in or plan to be employed in other states will need to meet the requirements for licensure in those states.

NC-SARA and the U.S. Department of Education Rule § 668.43 (a)(2)(v) requires institutions to make public whether a program will fulfill educational requirements for a specific licensure or certification required for employment in an occupation if the program is designed to or advertised as meeting such requirements. The document below provides information about whether Welch College programs that lead to licensure in the state of Tennessee may meet the licensure requirements in other states. Each state’s professional licensing board makes final licensing decisions regarding individual licensure.

NC-SARA has no effect with professional licensing board approval for any courses or programs leading to professional licensure. If you are not a resident of Tennessee, and you are taking a course or program leading to professional licensure, Welch College cannot guarantee whether the course or program meets requirements for professional licensure in your state. Prior to beginning your course of study, please consult with the academic department offering the program to receive individualized assessment and advice.
