(ESL) Endorsement


Earn your ESL Endorsement in a
convenient post-baccalaureate program

Welch College is offering courses that lead to the ESL endorsement for Sumner County Schools teachers. Requirements for participation, completion, and recommendation for endorsement include a baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited college or university, a current teacher license, and an application indicating good standing with Sumner County Schools.


Undergraduate Program: This path is provided for K-12 teachers who currently hold a master’s degree or do not plan to pursue a graduate degree at this time. Credits earned will be at the undergraduate level and tuition will be based on undergraduate rates.

Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program: This path is designed for K-12 teachers pursuing ESL endorsement and a graduate degree simultaneously. The program core for the Master of Arts in Teaching seeks to enhance Christian thinking and attitudes, professional teaching skills, and habits of lifetime learners, all of which are necessary for professional success in teaching. Graduate admission policies apply. Credits earned will be at the graduate level and tuition will be based on graduate rates.
