M.A. in Psychology | Overview

The Master of Arts in Psychology provides students with a general psychology graduate program that is designed to provide course transfer to more specialized programs in psychological studies at other institutions. The degree program is able to meet the needs of growing numbers of pastors and ministry workers who have indicated an interest in pursuing coursework that can help better serve churches and communities.

The 34-hour degree program will be available both in a traditional format on the main campus of Welch College and online, making the program accessible for whatever your situation.

M.A. in Psychology | Objectives

Students will:

  • Understand and apply foundational psychological processes and skill sets related to the biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective for use in various ministry and community settings.
  • Learn how to appropriately bring together faith and ethics through research and/or practicum experiences that will further advance the field of psychology.
  • Develop a professional identity and competency within the field of psychology, including self-awareness and a commitment to ongoing professional, and personal, enhancement.
  • Understand and appreciate cultural and worldview diversity within the field of psychology.
