Dr. Ian Hawkins
Associate Professor of Biology | Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences | Biology Program Coordinator
Ian Hawkins serves as the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and the Science Program Coordinator. He has bachelor’s degrees in both chemistry and biochemistry from East Carolina University, a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University in Molecular Biology, and a doctoral degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Chemistry Education. Has has co-authored a chapter for a Royal Society in Chemistry book entitled Problem Solving in Chemistry Education and has also been published in several scientific journals regarding work on RNA splicing. He is married to his wife, Katie, and they have two sons.
