Mr. Lance Williams, Welch Library manager since 2008, has resigned effective March 28, 2014.
Mr. Williams began working in the library as a student clerk in 2003. He became night supervisor in 2006 and was named full-time Library Manager two years later after Margaret Hampton’s retirement in 2008.
Mr. Williams said, “From student clerk to library manager, I have been fortunate to work at Welch College for almost 11 years. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served Christ with my friends and coworker. Despite the change in location, I hope to continue educating others through a biblical worldview cultivated here at Welch College.”
Welch College Librarian Carol Reid said, “As a digital natural, Lance has brought a new dimension of technological savvy to the library. His broad interests, natural curiosity, and concern for accuracy (especially in citations!) were well suited and beneficial to his library work. He has been a great friend, and we will miss him, as well as his wife Katie and daughter Adelaide.”
He and his family will move to Mt. Vernon, Illinois at the end of March in order to be closer to family and to pursue career opportunities there.
